Best Decision in Life

1 Kings 13-15

The decisions we take will determine our lives and the lives of our descendants. When David took the decision to do what is right before God and dedicated his life to please God, not just David who got the impact which is the strength, comfort, victory, and the blessing that God gave him. God was merciful to David's descendants because He remembered David.

Take the best decision today to devote your life to God. It is useless to do what is evil in the eyes of God because it will end with the destruction of ourselves and our descendants. But, when our hearts adhere completely to the Lord and when we do what is right before God, everything will end with the victory and glory in the Lord for us and our descendants.

Better to suffer for the truth than for sin. Better to obey God rather than following the wrong path because trust other person. Better to serve God than sin that will end in death.

"Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land." Psalms 25:12-13 (NIV)

Do not Compromise to Sin

I Kings 11

Solomon's downfall because he compromise with sin. He loved his wives rather than the Lord so that he follows other gods and doing evil before God. Center of his life is not God because his heart was no longer loved God and he did not wholeheartedly follow the Lord, like David, his father.

Bad influence can mislead us. But, if we establish Christ as the center of our lives, we will not compromise to sin and does not affected with things that are bad and mislead us.

Keep hold to the Word of God. Keep your heart to God. Build a relationship with God faithfully. Wherever, whenever, whatever you do, involve God and always pray to God. Praise and worship the Lord, your God. Do the things that are pleasing God and join the community that leads you grow in God.

"Look closely at yourselves. Test yourselves to see if you are living in the faith. Don’t you realize that Christ Jesus is in you? Of course, if you fail the test, he is not in you." 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT)

Without God, Life is Nothing

1 Kings 8-9

Solomon, a wise man, understand that without God's presence and work in the house of the Lord which he had built, the building has no meaning. That's why he prayed that the power of God manifest in the house of the Lord. God listened the prayers of Solomon and promised to grant his prayers if there is obedience and faith to God.

Built a luxury living with all the best in the world would be meaningless without God. The greatest satisfaction in life is not obtained from the money, material things, and the achievement of position. The greatest satisfaction in life comes from obedience and faith to God. The greatest satisfaction in life is obtained when seeing the power of God manifest in our life. The greatest satisfaction in life is obtained when we can finish our mission from God in this world with a good faith.

Be like Solomon, pray to God and ask Him to live in your life and you live in God. Ask God to manifest His power through your life so that all the peoples of the earth know the name of the Lord, so that they have fear of God, just like you.

"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing." John 15:5 (NLT)

God Never Tired of Us

1 Kings 6

Construction of house for the Lord is certainly not easy. The construction process took seven years. As a human being, of course, there are times where there is fatigue and anxiety in the midst of that construction. But, God cares and strengthens Solomon.
1 Kings 6:12-13 (NLT) "Then the Lord gave this message to Solomon: “Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my decrees and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David. I will live among the Israelites and will never abandon my people Israel."

In the process of life, of course, there are times when we are tired and worried about life. But God never tired to remind us about His love, His presence, and His commands. As long as we follow God's commands, God's promises will be fulfilled in our lives. God will not abandon us and always strengthens us because God loves us.

"But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you." John 14:26 (NLT)

Live by God's Word

I Kings 3-5

When Solomon showed his love for God by following the law of the Lord, God granted the request of Solomon. Solomon did not ask for long life, wealth, or the lives of his enemies. He asked for wisdom to do the truth, do the law of the Lord.

Live by God's word have focus on God. Focus on God make us ask God to be able to do God's will and do the truth. That is life that pleases God. Therefore, God given us what we ask and even what we do not ask so that we will prosper dan success.

Has your life according to the Word of God? Has your life focused on God? What is your wish to God? Is it for yourself or for God?
"This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success." Joshua 1:8 (AMP)

Knowing God's Will

1 Kings 1-2

Adonijah has the desire to be king. He equipped himself and celebrated himself as a king. However, all his efforts is failed because God wanted Solomon became king of Israel. Because God wanted Solomon became king of Israel, then no one can failed it.

Nothing can happen outside of God's will. Whatever our efforts, if it's not God's will, then it will be failed. But if it is the will of God, then no one can failed it. God is sovereign over our lives. Everything that happens in our lives is permitted by God.

When we know and do the will of God, then nothing can failed it. When we understand what God wants in our lives, then all our efforts will be successful and meaningful.

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2 (NLT)

There are two ways to understand the will of God according to Romans 12:2.
First, the life that reflects God's children. Have a holy life and live based on God's Word.
Second, to control our minds to think God's Word, God's promises, God's pleasure, the holiness of God, the goodness of God, the faithfulness of God, the greatness of God, the power of God, the sovereignty of God, and what the will of God.
“Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia. This is the message from the one who is holy and true, the one who has the key of David. What he opens, no one can close; and what he closes, no one can open." Revelation 3:7 (NLT)

Realize Your Sins

2 Samuel 24

Sins will made our lives and our nation broken. The first step of restoration is realize the sins we commit. We need to confess our sins before God. That means we realize that we need God's forgiveness, we need restoration from God, and we need God.

There are three things that can make us realize our sin.
First, our heart. When we sin, our heart will be pounding and realized our sins.
Second, the Word of God. When we read the Word of God, we realize our sins.
Third, those who believe in God. When we listen a sermon or song or sharing from them, when we read their writing, when we see them, we realize our sins.

Would you want your life restored by God? Realize and admit your sins before the Lord. Do not harden your hearts. Humble yourselves before the Lord and receive forgiveness from God. Repent from your sins.

"But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." 1 John 1:9 (NLT)

Power of God in Times of Troubles

2 Samuel 22

David's song of praise in 2 Samuel 22 would not exist without his enemies and Saul. David could see the true power of God when he was in difficulties, troubles, and pressures. Without any problems, there is no victory.

In the darkest valley, David saw God as his rock, his fortress, his deliverer, his shield, his salvation, his stronghold, his refuge, his savior, his support, his lamp, his courage, his strength, his trainer, his judge, and his God.

What problems are you facing today? Cry out to God in your distress like David. Shout to God, call His name, and ask His help. Trust that the true power of God is gonna be revealed through your problems. At that time, sing praises to God for the salvation that God has given to you and tell that to the people around you .

"Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong." 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NLT)

Forgive and Forget

2 Samuel 19

Although Shimei have cursed David, David did not hate him. David did not remember or think about Shimei's mistake. David did not intend to revenge to Shimei. Even, David swore Simei will not die.

Other people can make mistakes to us. It is better to forgive them and remember God's forgiveness for our mistakes. It is better we remember and think about God's goodness and faithfulness in our lives. It is better we remember and meditate the Word of God that has been taught to us.

Control your heart and mind. Only you can decide what you would do. Take the decision to forgive others as God has forgiven us.

"And I will forgive the wrongs they have done, and I will not remember their sins.” Hebrews 8:12 (ERV)

Love of Real Father

2 Samuel 18

Although Absalom wanted to kill David, but David did not hate his son, Absalom. David still loved Absalom and cried over the death of his son.

Father and child status will not change forever. Whatever happens, David is Absalom's father. Whatever Absalom did, Absalom is still the son of David. The love of a real father cannot fade away by his children mistakes.

John 1:12 says "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,"

We are children of God. Whatever mistake we have done, God, our Father loves us and forgives us. God, our Father awaits us return to Him. He loves us with no terms and conditions. He loves us no matter what. God, our Father teaches us in the truth of His Word so that we have a better life. God, our Father sacrificed everything for us. He supply everything we need, guide us, protect us, and help us in perfect time.

Be grateful and said thankful to God, our Father. Be grateful and said thankful to our father in this world. Show and said your love to them. Happy Father's Day.

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)

Surrender to God by Believing God

2 Samuel 15

David fled from Jerusalem because Absalom, his son, want to take the throne of his kingdom. David did not want to take his throne of kingdom back back to him. All he wanted was to be together again with the ark of God.

David hope the favor of God made he see the ark of God. But, he surrendered to God. If God did not grant his wishes, David still believe God is good and surrender to God's decision.

I believe God is good and He always do good for us. Even we do not see good thing happens in our lives, keep believe that God is good. Even God does not grant our wishes, keep believe that God is good.

God loves us so much so that He has forgiven us and beared the consequences of our sin. With that evidence of His great love for us, how could we doubt God and think that God is not good just because of a few bad things that happen to us?

Ecclesiastes 3:11 TLB says "Everything is appropriate in its own time. But though God has planted eternity in the hearts of men, even so, many cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end."

Be patient until the end. Hang in on every process that God permitted in your life. Keep surrender to God. Have a heart that always believes God can only do good things in your life.

You probably do not understand what is good from your life now. But, in the end you will understand that even bad things happen, there is a wonderful end that has been prepared for you. Do not be disappointed. Do not blame God. Do not give up. Do not lose hope in the Lord. God is good.

"Give the Lord a chance to show you how good He is. Great blessings belong to those who depend on Him." Psalms 34:8 (ERV)

Forgiveness and Consequence

"Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan replied, “Yes, but the Lord has forgiven you, and you won’t die for this sin. Nevertheless, because you have shown utter contempt for the word of the Lord by doing this, your child will die.”" 2 Samuel 12:13-14 (NLT)

God forgives the sins of David. But, David must bear the consequence of his sins. His son was died. There is always a consequence though forgiveness is given.

That is the love and justice of God. Because of God's love for us, then we are forgiven. However, our Lord is justice so we have to bear the consequences of our actions.

The consequences of our sin is physical death and eternal separation from God forever in hell.

The good news is we are precious to God. God loves us so much so that He did not let us suffer the consequences of sin. God does not want to separate from us forever. Therefore, God bear the consequences of our sins.

He came to earth as a human, and death on the cross. On the third day after His death, He rose from the dead and He is alive. He has defeated the death.

He has built a bridge so that we are not separated from God forever and give us eternal life in heaven. It is not enough if we only know and agree with it. God wants us to cross the bridge.

We can cross humbly by confessing our sins and declaring our need for forgiveness and guidance of God. Your trust and obedience made you receive forgiveness of all your sins and you do not necessary to bear the consequences of sin since the Lord has done it for you.

Our relationship with God is built strongly because we believe, declare, and make Jesus as our Lord and Savior. God raised us to be His children and be with us forever.

Will you cross this time with trust in Christ and make Christ as your giver of forgiveness, leader, and friend?
"Christ himself died for you. And that one death paid for your sins. He was not guilty, but He died for those who are guilty. He did this to bring you all to God. His body was killed, but He was made alive in the spirit." 1 Peter 3:18 (ICB)
